How do the Ikat mules fit compared to closed loafers?
The front fits identically, true to size on the EU 39-48 last, but there is no heel counter: your heel rides free, which is the point of a mule. If you are between sizes, take your regular EU size; the vamp grip is what holds a mule on.
What care does an open-back ikat shoe need?
The same dry routine as the family: soft, dry cloth over leather and ikat weave alike, no machine washing, no standing moisture, cool dry storage. Because the back is open, also give the red leather footbed a quick wipe now and then.
Is the Ikat mule handcrafted per order?
Yes, we build each pair in India when you order it, from the black-and-white ikat panel to the red tassels on the vamp and the stacked heel. All ten sizes, EU 39 to 48, stay open year-round.
Are backless mules practical outside the house?
